In the winter months, snow and ice buildup on your roof can lead to ice dams and clogs in your gutter system. When this happens, water cannot freely flow through your gutters and downspouts to the drain in the ground, resulting in a multitude of problems.

As the leading gutter expert with best gutter guard reviews in Minnesota, Gutter Helmet® can offer a long-term solution: the Helmet Heat® Ice Reduction System. Take a closer look at the product here.

What Is Helmet Heat?

A simple and effective solution to ice dams, Helmet Heat is a self-regulating heating cable that snugly fits inside the Gutter Helmet’s bracket system. It aims to minimize the conditions necessary for these ridges of ice that commonly form at the edge of the roof to form and prevent water damage.

How Does It Work?

Helmet Heat will raise the temperature of your gutters to above freezing and prevent snow melt from refreezing as ice dams. To do this, the system will detect changes in ambient temperature using the heating cables. These cables cannot overheat, providing just enough heat to melt the ice.

What Are the Benefits?

Helmet Heat uses a commercial-grade self-regulating heat cable that is safe and durable. It does not require a thermostat or any attention from the homeowner, and can maintain continuous temperatures for extended periods as long as you need it to safeguard your home. To operate it, all you need to do is switch it on and off at the right time.
