Gutter Helmet® Continues to Raise Awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project®

By October 30, 2014No Comments

Wounded-Warrior-Project-is-a-FraudWith Veterans Day just around the corner, Gutter Helmet® would once again like to take a moment to express our appreciation to those who serve our country. We honor those who have devoted part of their lives to protecting ourselves and our loved ones, and continue to show our appreciation with support of the Wounded Warrior Project®.

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) was founded in 2002 by several veterans and their friends who took action to help the first wounded American service members returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. WWP serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound associated with military service on or after September 11, 2001.

WWP strives for most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in United States history by providing innovative programs that nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement. These programs are available to meet the needs of warriors and their families.

The work WWP does is important because:

  • 7% of warriors are permanently homebound as a result of their injuries.
  • 6 in 10 have been hospitalized as a result of their injuries and health problems.
  • 75% of warriors have less than a bachelor’s degree.
  • Most cannot do the things they once could as a result of their injuries.
  • Most have difficulty finding gainful employment.

WWP understands that every wounded soldier’s recovery process is different, and works to meet the unique needs of every veteran and his or her family. As of September 1, 2014, the project has assisted 56,443 alumni and 7,920 family members. Donate now to this worthy cause.

Last November, Gutter Helmet spearheaded a donation campaign for the Wounded Warrior Project through our Facebook page. For more information about the best gutter guard in America and news about future campaigns to support the needs of our wounded soldiers, visit www.GutterHelmet.com.
